Why I Do What I Do

why

Have you ever just looked at a problem, a really big problem that people have trying to fix for as long as you can remember and think to yourself, the solution is there and it is so easy to see, why can’t anybody else see? If you have then you know how frustrating that can be.  You just want to go and shout the answer from the mountain tops and help everyone.

Too bad things don’t really work out that way. So often, you have a solution for someone and they are just not ready to hear it. So, do you just keep trying to beat them over the head or do you move on and find others for whom your message is right for them now. Of course it is the second.  That is why I am attempting to take this message to as many people as possible. I know chiropractic treatment can save their lives, I just do not know who is really ready to hear the message.

I sat down the other day and decided to write out a list of the most common diseases and ailments that I could think of in the US. Here they are in no particular order:

  1. Cardiovascular problems
  2. Cancer
  3. Diabetes
  4. Obesity
  5. Colitis
  6. Fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue
  7. Arthritis
  8. Headaches
  9. Musculoskeletal pain
  10. Depression
  11. etc

I am sure you could add a lot more. What struck me is that so many of them are because of a toxic lifestyle. The top 4 above are the ones that get all the press, they are the Glory diseases that get most of our research dollars and account for the largest amount spent on interventions and medications. These diseases don’t have to exist if we could get into the lifestyle that our bodies were designed to live. People might argue that they get diseases because of their genes or family history but that is usually just not true. When you think that our genes remain virtually unchanged from when we were a hunter gatherer society and you see that there was virtually no heart disease, cancer, obesity, diabetes, etc, how can we blame genetics? Heck, there were hardly any of those diseases just a few generations ago. I just don’t understand that method of thinking and I have to get a different message out. The United States is falling behind in the health of our people compared to other nations and here we are with a new National Health Plan getting ready to throw more of the same at all these problems. We spend way more on health than any other industrialized nation yet we are at the bottom when it comes to any measurement of our health. We take over 70% of all prescription drugs in the WORLD!!! We are not getting a good return on our investment. I see a different way to turn the health of this nation around and I have made it my professional mission to take a message of hope and action to the masses so that they can be educated and empowered on what it takes to reach their birthright of excellent health and vitality.
